062 | TRENA LITTLE | How To Explode Your Visibility With YouTube

TRENA LITTLE  is a video content strategist who helps creative entrepreneurs create a game plan for developing video content on YouTube.

TRENA'S BACKGROUND:

  • MBA in business

  • Started her YouTube channel while pregnant with her first child

  • She has both a Mommy channel + one for new female entrepreneurs

SOME STUDENT RESULTS:

  • Summer cycle boot camp - One student upped subscribers from 20 to 200
  • Students saying that new clients found them on YouTube

WHY YOUTUBE?

  • YouTube is owned by Google, making it the 2nd most popular search engine in the world
  • When searching for help, if you have a video on YouTube that will answer that person's question, it is highly likely it will be featured in Google results

What would you say to someone who says “I can not start a YouTube channel because I already have too much going on (social media, etc.)?”

  • It’s going to save you time (YouTube is hub of content)
  • It will heighten your traffic because it will be flowing from social media, to your website, to your channel on repeat
  • You can create 1 video for all sites (Facebook, Pinterest, twitter, email, etc.), making your content creation process more simple

For a first time YouTube user, what are your tips so their videos are seen by customers?

  • Do your research in advance. Know what your audience wants to see.
  • Look up keywords on YouTube. YT will show you what is most popular right now or what people are searching for.
  • 1 – 2 paragraphs to describe your videos
  • Thumbnail (use your own) is really important. Start thinking about that before you even fil
  • Make the text stand out
  • Match your title and thumbnail and make it interesting so people wanna click it
  • You can batch videos by filming them all at once

How do you compete with other people who have tons of subscribers?

  • Focus on your content. Make sure once they click on your video, they wanna watch the whole thing and not just a few seconds
  • Important to have an outside social media and email strategy
  • When people watch your video first and then someone else’s, you are getting credit for that and YouTube is going to promote your video
  • Don’t worry about their subscriber numbers. They might not have followers on other social media sides

What practices do you recommend in order to actually batch up to 12 videos in one day (whaaat?!?!)

  • Have a plan. Script out the video (hook, content) in advance
  • Checklist
  • Refresh / take a walk / watch Netflix for a break and get back at it
  • Reward yourself when you get the 12 done
  • Start linking your YouTube video everywhere.
  • Do teaser clips.

060 | FAMILY CIRCLE | The Basics For Being A Successful, Happy Person

Hey friends!

Today I've got my family back in town for another FAMILY CIRCLE episode! This is such a fun one, friends!

p.s. Remember the Manifesting Miracles Challenge starts today! Join now!

https://liferebootcourse.com/manifestingmiracleschallenge

Attract new opportunities / make your business grow.

  • Joe Dispenza

  • Paul Hegstrom

  • Raphology

Difference from before (work hard, strive, etc) to now including the holistic side of business:

  • Have you done the work? Did you exercise the change? If not, you will repeat what you have been taught. Where do you wanna go? As soon as you remove yourself from the past / from your habits, you have room to change and grow.

  • What are your negative patterns in your life? How can you change your current environment?

  • Before you head out the door in the morning, take your time (if only 15 min) to be quiet, meditate and think about what you want of this new day.

  • Survival mode will not let you create anything new because your body is so busy with putting all its energy into “surviving” … even if it’s only going to work but being stressed all day or not liking it.

What is growth mode? It’s a space to relax, let your body relax, start creating new patterns.

  • Our subconscious is playing 95% of our past tapes. We have 5% to snap out of it and reprogram our brain. Get rid of your negative beliefs. Take control of your thoughts.

Why do we feel different when we reprogram our brain? The body follows the mind.

  • Negative thoughts might have been passed down by other people. Hurt people hurt people. Don’t compare yourself.

  • Changing is hard work.

  • When people try to project negativity on you, decline or say that’s not true. Don’t accept it. Know who you are and where you are going so you don’t take on somebody else’s opinion of you. What are your universal truths?

  • Ground yourself. Go out into nature and recharge and heal.

  • Dr. Stephen Sinatra.

How can manifestation work for you?

  • Get over what society says what you should or should not be. Heal from your past. Be satisfied with your life (after you make changes). Create.

  • Find your passion. Project into your future. Be grateful. You have to know where you are going. Calm everything down. Create space. Start visualizing where you wanna be.

  • What’s your mission?

  • Don’t give up. Fight for what you want.

  • Your past (pain, relationship failures, upbringing, etc) will be used as your story. You will be able to help other people thru what you learned.

  • Acknowledge your wounds. Analyze them. Ask for forgiveness / forgive. Let it go.

  • You are never stuck to your current situation. You are never a victim to your past (unless you choose to). You can impact and change the world with your unique gifts and calling. You were born for a specific purpose.

  • Own your brain real estate.

  • Meditate before you get to bed. Don’t use your phone.

  • Go connect with nature.

058 | THE CONFIDENCE BEHIND VISIBILITY | Lauren Eliz Love

Hey friends!

Today we're talking with my friend Lauren Eliz Love where's she's actually interviewing me about the confidence that's so desperately needed behind the screen with visibility.

FEELING LIKE YOU NEED TO BE PERFECT ON LIVESTREAMS:

  • You can't be perfect on a livestream, it's impossible, something will go wrong
  • People will actually relate to you more the less perfect your lives are!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE "JUST DO IT" STRATEGY?

  • Throwing yourself into doing a live won't resolve those fears
  • Dig into those fears to figure out what the wounds are behind the scenes that make you feel like you can't get on camera
  • Recommendation: Broken Children, Grown Up Pain
  • If you're injured before teenage years, you don't have the chemicals to understand that it's not your fault
  • It's important to dig into these wounds because they will try to keep you from being visible because it "isn't safe"
  • It's our job to do the most work we can on ourselves so that our audience can truly see who we are + how we can help

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BE OBSESSED WITH VIEWS:

  • The most powerful person you should talk to when you go live is your old self
  • The audience you're serving is where you used to be
  • Your #1 job is to be that forward-moving train that is obsessed with being that thought leader to impact the world....that is more attractive than anything else
  • The views will come, the strategy will come
  • Your brilliance in your message is owning that connection

WHAT IF I FORGET OR FREEZE UP?

  • You absolutely will mess up, freeze up or forget
  • Put a bottom to your fear
  • Go in with a game plan, outline your live, keep it close to your livestreaming device

WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIALS OF LIVESTREAMING?

  • A dependable connection/device
  • Good lighting

Remember, livestreaming is just a tool to facilitate your mission on this planet.

053 | BAILEY RICHERT | Hosting Your First Online Summit

For years Bailey Richert was caught up in the 'rat race' as she followed what she was taught was the 'right path' in life. A high school valedictorian and magna cum laude engineering university graduate, Bailey took a job for many years working the 9-to-5 consulting grind in California. To most, it must have seemed like she 'had it all', but she wasn't anywhere near being fulfilled. The cubicle life would never allow her to achieve the dreams, goals and ambitions she had.

So she decided to make a change.

In 2013, Bailey left her corporate career, studied entrepreneurship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and launched her own online, location independent business with the goal of earning her own income from anywhere in the world. Today, she helps others realize that it is possible to achieve the life you truly desire if you put in the effort to create the financial means to support that life. Her business model of choice? "Infopreneurship". Through her books, blog, courses, coaching programs and events, Bailey helps individuals launch profitable online enterprises as “infopreneurs”: respected experts in their fields creating value and generating income by sharing their life experience, knowledge and passions with others in a manner that supports their ideal lifestyles.

What is stage 0 to hosting a mini workshop / mini summit and building my list? What is the behind the scenes prep work before you even start the workshop?

  • 12 step process (3 phases): each phase takes a month for big summits
  • Planning logistics (sit down before you take action): how many days, what are the dates, what is the theme, name of the event (don’t bring in speakers before you know what the theme is)

How would you put the fears of failure to rest? And how do you attract the right speakers?

  • A lot of people might say no, but it doesn’t mean that you or your event are not worth it (people might be busy and wouldn’t have time to be a real partner, or there might be personal things going on, or they might say no because they don’t know you yet, etc.)

  • If they say no, maybe ask if you can interview them for your podcast, start building a relationship

  • How to actually reach out to them: Never over social media (connecting is ok though, but not
    invite)
, email them. Include personal connection to show that you genuinely care about them and their projects (“I followed your blog and this article resonated with me”, etc.).

As a host, you should welcome genuine feedback from the speakers you invite.

What Michelle has been going thru (with hosting her first summit)

  • Wanted to film in person with all entrepreneurs in one place (constantly changing dates)
    - Didn’t feel like it would work out. Melodrama. Thoughts of failure.
    - Reinvent yourself: Film in different segments when speakers have time, edit it together like a movie.

  • And that worked!
    - Be authentic to yourself
    - Go with the flow and don’t get stuck on what you think something has to look like or be done like

What are some good tips in terms of you staying healthy, sleeping, staying energized, etc. when
running the (virtual) summit? How do you keep it together?

  • Pre record
  • Automate absolutely everything (emails, promotions, social media)
  • Get some help / support / outsource (facebook ads manager, techy VA, customer service emails, other business owners or individual)

Wins that you, your guests or customers have experienced

  • All 3 should feel like they benefit
    - Attendees: Free training, discover new influencers, Freebies from guest speakers
    - Guest speakers: exposure, testimonials, connecting with other influencers (new business
    connections)
, grow their list (newsletter, FB group, etc.)
    - Host: Benefit the most. Grow email list, sometimes profit (all access pass, notes), new relationships with guest speakers, new clients for coaching and courses, and things like this where you get to be on a podcast.

How do you make YOUR summit intriguing / shiny so people think they NEED this value

  • Going back to the planning phase: Who is your target audience? Don’t invite the “wrong” speakers
  • What is your content? People don’t want to buy an all access if most of the content is not what they need
  • Up the value of your all access pass (Free interviews, premium interviews that you can only get with the pass, downloadable audio)
  • What is a software you love / recommend to use if someone is just starting out?
    - Sales funnel technology
    - Clickfunnels (all in one solution: landing page, sales funnels, online courses, virtual summit)
    - If you use something else, you might have to piecemeal some software and technology together (lead pages, samcart, etc.)

summit from scratch in 90 days, 2 page planning worksheet, guest speaker checklist)

052 | THE SECRET TO NOT QUITTING ENTREPRENEURSHIP | CALVIN WAYMAN

Calvin Wayman is a best-selling author, keynote speaker, and social media entrepreneur. The most inspiring thing about this man is what he’s accomplished in such a short time. In just Spring 2015, he was still working a 9-to-5 job. He ultimately decided to push himself as a new entrepreneur and he went selling door-to-door for 14 months. He recently published his first book, which debuted on the Amazon top-100 of all books in the Success category. His book is called, “Fish Out of Water: The Guide To Achieving Breakthrough and Permanently Transforming Into the New You.” Also, because of his life transformation, he was just featured on the Dave Ramsey Show--reaching 12 million listeners--sharing his story of becoming debt-free for the first time in his entire adult life. He’s been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, The Huffington Post, Social Media Examiner, and was even named one of the Top 30 Entrepreneurs Under the Age of 30 (by Influencive.com.) Today, he is the CEO of the successful social media company, CobbesMedia.com - a social media management agency designed to make corporations, small businesses, and personal brands grow and stand out through the power of social media. He’s the one behind the HuffPost original, “The 4 C’s of Social Media Success!”

What do you do in the online space?

  • Social media management (for businesses, entrepreneur, network marketing, stand out, get sales, get leads, build connections with your tribe)

How did you get into that?

  • Quit my day job 2 years ago (2015). Asked myself: What am I passionate about? What’s my jam?

  • What should I do with my life?

  • I wanna have freedom. But doing what?

  • What I knew: I didn’t wanna be an employee, so I quit.

  • Was there for the first Periscope summit in NYC. Which got me into entrepreneur magazine.Periscope App was my in. Where I became known. Early pioneer. My first email opt in. Made my first dollar.

  • Facebook / Facebook live “replaced” Periscope. Loved that FB was new and that it could make an impact and a regular person could start something. The essence is social media. And that was it!

  • You can build an audience / tribe for the cost of nothing. That’s what got me excited about social media.

It’s ok to fail. You learn and grow with everything you do and learn and you will be able to use it in your entrepreneurship. “Trying” is not a curse word. Don’t sit on the sidelines and waste your time.

How to move forward? I don’t feel like I’m enough. I wouldn’t know how to share my story. How do you take authority over your story? How do you step into that space of entrepreneurship / speaking?

  • Repetition is huge

  • Practical step: Google search “Toastmasters” to practice speaking (feedback from peers in a safe environment)

  • Your whole life is content. You DO have something to say

  • Do a webinarFacebook livePeriscope

  • Don’t take classes about how to become a good speaker, find your authentic self

051 | CAROLIEN MERTENS | Hosting Your First Live Event

Carolien Mertens helps entrepreneurs and coaches create and sell out their dream live event, in-person mastermind or retreat. She is a contributor to major publications such as the Huffington Post and Thrive Global. She has organised over 100 events and welcomed more than 10000 participants. Among those participants were Heads of State, Royalty and celebrities. Her #1 priority is to give her clients the opportunity to focus and thrive on their in-person event through her signature flexible planning strategy and promotion, that ensures sold out events, smooth event flow & intense participant experience.

What got you into this? What do you really love about it?

  • Enrolled into event planning step by step (wasn’t planned). History major in university. Internship for an art auction house. Learned how to plan auctions, how to welcome guests, making sure everything went smooth.
  • After 2 years, started to work for a full time conference agency in Brussels. 1 year ago (2016), she decided to go freelance.
  • Now: Serving entrepreneurs and coaches all over the word. Living in Brussels.
  • Passionate about productivity (started reading productivity blogs. Book “I will teach you to be rich” by Ramit Sethi.)
  • Learned about online education world. Felt drawn to new way of doing business, learning, planning your life. Saw trend of online business and connecting with audience offline.
  • Saw the market. Dove in. Combined her personal passion with her skills.

What entrepreneurs have you worked with? What was the experience like to put the events together?

  • Smaller events: Cycle of group coachings. Everything has to go smooth and fit in with their day to day business planning.
  • Large corporations have different departments. Maybe in-house event planner. But entrepreneurs are smaller. The entrepreneur is the face of the event. Their clients are coming. Has to be authentic.
  • People have to have a great time, have to have the possibility to connect in person.
  • Large corporation’s employees are not as emotionally invested as an entrepreneur would be

What are the different steps / aspects to host a live event for approx 20-50 people?

  • Get clear on your vision (atmosphere, speakers, feeling of the event). Why do you want to host an event? What’s your reason? Have the attendees been following you? Have they worked with you?
  • Is it an event for clients? Do you want to promote a premium service? Do you want to step up as an expert in your field? Do you want to bring your community together face to face (connector)?
  • Logistics (where, when, for who)
  • How are you going to promote the event
  • Agenda of the event (content, line up of speakers)

Let’s say we are planning an event for 20 people to establish authority in market (visibility) and I have a vision board / feeling of what I want the event to be. What would be my next step?

  • Establish date(s)
  • Event season is early Sept to mid Nov (all conference rooms are booked)
  • Be creative on the venue
  • When are people able to travel (your attendees have to come to you). End of year or summer might not be the best dates
  • Is your preferred / dream venue available

What would be a good amount of prep time for an event (20 people)?

  • 3 months would be a comfortable timeline (clear on how you want the event to look, check out dates and venues, notify your audience and speaker list)
  • How do you stand out? What are some cool venue ideas that are a bit outside of the box (not a regular conference room)?
  • Air BnB
  • Cabin at the lake (isolate them from big city life. Let them experience an authentic 2 day retreat)
  • Ask your friends / existing network if they have a great summer house or a beautiful urban loft that you could use for a day

What is a good timeline for your first event? 3 days seem like a lot … Is 1 day enough?

  • You could even start with half a day
  • If you don’t have any help / support, even 1 full day can be a lot for you
  • You need to plan it out well
  • Ask friends to help you
  • Be clear on what the day is going to look like and you have to be comfortable with your content
  • You have to have time and space to welcome and connect with your participants (rather than
  • stressing out over logistics (catering, projector, fixing things, somebody running late, etc.))
  • You need to own your timeline
  • You need your energy to be up to deliver value to your participants
  • Don’t put pressure on yourself
  • What can you imagine doing? If 3 days seem too big, do less
  • Do a workshop (test run)

What are must haves (material, etc.) to keep people’s attention and make them feel welcome?

  • Basic branding (signs/poster, worksheets) with your logo, etc.
  • Catering (free water, coffee, tea). Creates connections
  • Flowers / decoration add the personal touch
  • Objects from your home that you love to show your personality (makes the audience feel like they are in your room)

How do you actually get people to come to your event? How would you promote your event in an organic, heartfelt way in order to bring across your message and attract the right people?

  • Be authentic
  • Email your existing list
  • Post in your facebook group
  • Announce that something “special” is coming up to create suspense and build expectation
  • Reach out via personalized email (your guest list)
  • Offer a special bonus for everybody who brings a friend to the event (so your friends tap into their network)

What online program do you recommend to sell tickets?

  • Eventbrite: You can post for free. Ticket fee can be absorbed by you or your customer. You canembed the webpage / link to your website. You can send out invitations. You can share the event onsocial media. All in one service that is not too expensive.
  • Use your own CRM system
  • Samcart

What do you think about starting early (not after hitting 80’000 followers)? How about starting small and having photography and videography done and incorporating that into your website?

  • Absolutely! It’s a great marketing tool
  • Live testimonials for later use (easy: smartphone and selfie stick or tripod is all you need and your audience is already there, the room is beautiful and they are enthusiastic about what they just heard)
  • Livestream parts of the event in your facebook group
  • Think outside the box / reinvent yourself to optimize your image
  • Maximise your return by recording / photography / upselling
